AACE2021-A-1033: Primary Thyroid Lymphoma: Case Series of Patients from a Developing Country

Primary Thyroid Lymphoma (PTL) is a rare disease, mostly affecting middle-to-old aged females. It has strong association with pre-existing thyroiditis, which increases the risk of its development. The disease been studied in detail Western populations, however, there lack data for South Asians, especially Pakistani population. We conducted this review to find out about characteristics our setting. This was retrospective study where we reviewed four diagnosed and/or treated cases primary thyroid at tertiary care hospital Pakistan. Each patient’s medical records were and studied. mean age participants 62.8 +/- 10.2 two males All histopathology consistent Diffuse B cell subtype. Out patients, one patient died as result complications, lost follow up patients are doing well no active complaints followed-up regularly clinicopathological other features studies done previously. suggestive that can similar approach investigate treat behaves way western populations.
